Charity Drive – Children's Cup Donation

EPA MAKES FIRST DONATION TO ITS CHOSEN CHARITY ORGANIZATION

On the 8th of December 2022, the Eswatini Psychology Association made its very first charity donation. Our chosen charity was Children’s Cup International Relief Organization, a non-profit organization established over thirty years ago and has since expanded across 6 countries, namely South Africa, Honduras, Belize, Mexico, The Dominican Republic and Eswatini. Today, Children’s Cup feeds over 15,000 children, giving hope, inspiring dreams and changing the worlds of the little children that they serve, particularly orphaned and vulnerable (OVCs).

Children’s Cup organization operates through its Neighborhood CarePoints (NCPs) in three of the four regions in Eswatini namely Hhohho, Manzini and Lubombo.  There are a total number of 23 NCPs and/or sites across the nation of Eswatini and 60 sites globally, including Eswatini. Children’s Cup organization currently runs several programs in Eswatini which include Feeding and Nutrition, Pre-school, Kids Club, Youth Club, Foundations and Wellness.  Under the Wellness pillar is another program called Guguletfu (treasured ones) that focuses on loving and caring for our special needs children. Some of them are unable to attend the Carepoint regularly due to mobility challenges and having a separate program assures that the children receive love just like all the other children.  It was an honour and a privilege for EPA to contribute to the little lives at Children’s Cup, Guguletfu. Our Chairperson and Vice Chairperson had the honour of handing over the food parcels to the Children’s Cup staff members.

Charity Drive – Deep Water Donation

EPA Toiletry Drive for Deep Water

Deep Water Eswatini began in early 2022 as a group of women passionate about learning about the unseen corners of their community. As the journey continued, a small non-profit organisation formed with a heart to sit with and build safe relationships with the ‘after hours’ community of Manzini. Our vision is to experience a safe world where anyone can discover dignity restoration and personal empowerment to step into freedom and purpose. We do this by creating physically, emotionally, and spiritually safe spaces where anyone can enter and be seen, heard, and known. As of 2023, we are officially recognised as a non-profit organisation in the Kingdom of Eswatini, and we are extremely excited to see how the journey continues to unfold.

“On the 22nd of April 2023, EPA conducted its second ever charity drive by donating toiletries to Deep Water Eswatini in a bid to provide basic necessities to young people in Eswatini. EPA had been collecting these toiletry donations from the public for a few months prior to the handover to Deep Water.
